Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), or social phobia, is characterized by intense fear and anxiety in social settings, leading to considerable distress and impaired daily functioning.

We Treat PANS & PANDAS

It manifests through physical symptoms like excessive blushing, sweating, and palpitations, often accompanied by panic attacks and avoidance behaviors. Some individuals with SAD may self-medicate with substances, potentially leading to further complications.

At Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry, the treatment of SAD involves a comprehensive approach, utilizing a myriad of treatment options, including on and off-label medications and supplements, alongside various therapy forms. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) plays a key role, in helping patients change thought patterns and reactions to anxiety-inducing situations. But there are many other therapies that can be helpful, including EMDR, role playing therapy, and improv therapy. Our multifaceted strategy aims to address the psychological, physiological, and lifestyle aspects of social phobia, offering a more holistic and effective path to managing and overcoming the disorder.
